So I haven't posted in a while but I have come across this great application called www.slife.com. If you like information design or if you just like to stay on top of things and know how much time you are spending on various tasks then you should check out slife. You can see what you are spending every second of your time on. The only downer is that you can not export the results yet or combine the results into one task.

mebeam anybody?
There is a new website out there called mebeam that lets you video call with up to 16 people for free...without downloading any software (assuming you have flash). This is pretty amazing and easy to use. All you do is type the name of the room that you want to have and then accept the video and voila, instant video chatting. This is pretty impressive considering skype only allows for video conferencing with one other person at a time.

3G iPhone amazing, but not quite there.

So Apple recently announced the 3G iPhone today at the WWDC conference. While I am impressed by the improved speed of internet browsing, GPS mapping and price cuts, I am bummed that they did not include a camera on the face for teleconferencing. I honestly think that the first company to do this will dominate. More people are beginning to use skype and other video conferencing software applications and it seems only natural that this is the next step.
I have a feeling that even though we aren't seeing a camera in this version, we will see it in the next version or one down the road...it is inevitable. Look how the iPod has evolved from an old school digital screen to a high resolution color screen with more memory in it than the first spaceship.

Have you ever?

Have you ever grabbed something you knew would be hot but did it anyway?
Yesterday, it was such a nice day that I thought I would dust off the BBQ and cook a little chicken. The chicken I purchase was stuffed with garlic and herbs mixed in with some bread like stuffing in the middle so it said I should use a meat thermometer in order to make sure it cooks thoroughly in the middle. I put them on the BBQ and shoved the thermometer in and started doing something else.
I realized at some point that forgot to set a timer and then went to check on them and realized I needed to flip them as quick as possible. I would not be able to flip with the thermometer still in the chicken so somehow I thought it was a great idea to grab the thermometer with my right hand as though I had an oven mitt on. DOH! Funny thing is it was sooo hot that I didn't immediately feel the pain. About 15 seconds later, my fingers were on fire and I had to ice them for 5 hours until I went to bed and just put up with it.
Today my finger have little feeling where they were scorched and are beginning to develop blisters but I just want to warn you. Don't touch a hot thermometer or any metal for that matter. If you are going to do so, wear an oven mitt. DUHHHHH!

NCAA womens final four
where Maryland destroyed Vanderbilt. I was amazed at how much they
would often fall on the floor when ever there was multiple girls near
the ball. I still don't find womens basketball all that exciting to
watch. Maybe because they spend so much time on the ground.
